SHAD is one of
the United
Kingdom's leading specialists in
independent living services for people with
disabilities. The organisation is also a provider of a wide range of volunteering opportunities in central London.
We are able to support people with their daily living
by assisting them to live independently in their home.
Support could include a complete personal care package or help
attending appointments or social activities to enable you to stay
connected with your social network, family, friends and the local
community.
SHAD is able to assist you to make choices about the most
appropriate level of support, understanding which services are
available to you and how these can be integrated together to
meet your needs.
Serivces can be provided for up to 24 hours a day, seven days a
week. Each care package is provided under contract and funded by
your Local Authority, Primary Care Trust, or Health Trust, or
directly with you as a private customer.
SHAD focuses on quality and the promotion of independence. Our
ethos is to work in partnership not to assume control. We
incorporate the essential elements of choice, competence,
individuality, continuity, status and respect in all of our
services.
Our support packages are tailored to your individual needs and
can be changed and adapted as required. Our staff are able to fully
assess your needs and to work with you to plan your support.
It is SHAD's belief that
people with disabilities should have control over every aspect of
their lives and be able to expect the same freedom of choice that is
available to the able-bodied. When SHAD began its work,
it started a care revolution - various independent living service
providers in the United Kingdom now use
SHAD's model!
